The long-running live interactive extravaganza known as the Puppet Karaoke Show takes its madcap tour of singing puppets and improv mayhem to the sunset shores of Audubon, New Jersey in the production's first Garden State appearance in its 5 year run. The 'Puppet Karaoke 'Two Weeks After Valentine's Day And Still A Loser Show' will debut at The Loft (at the Auction House) on Friday, February 27th with notorious comedienne Carolyn Busa as host.
Puppet Karaoke has been a big hit in the Philadelphia and surrounding region, and mixes off-the-wall puppet theatre with real honest karaoke, all moderated by a human 'host' of varying degrees of celebrity. This edition will feature Carolyn Busa, a Rowan University graduate and recent headliner of the Collingswood Comedy Cabaret. Carolyn is a regular performer throughout the New Jersey and Philadelphia area, and maintains a strong belief in sleeping with stuffed animals. She is a redhead, but may or may not be 'feisty'. Previous editions have featured hosts such as NYC comedian Jonathan Randall, Johnny Cash tribute artist David Stone and radio personality Robert Drake. The show's largely unscripted comedy combine with real audience participation as anyone can choose a song and take the puppetstage microphone, provided they have brought a puppet with them or have the impulse to build one onsite with the nearby Emergency Puppet Contruction Zone. PK, as it is known, boasts a large regular cast of crazy puppet characters, such as the adorable cat-fairy Mitzil P to the agoraphobic self-made business guru, Tony Trainwreck. The Puppet Karaoke Two Weeks After Valentine's Day And Still A Loser Show is Friday, February 27th. Doors open at 8:00 PM. Location: The Loft at the Auction House 100 W Merchant St Audubon, NJ 08106 Tickets are $6, or a special 'Loser Couples' price of $10 (for two!). Special student discounts also may apply. Tickets are available at the door or in advance at www.puppetkaraoke.com or www.auctionhouseevents.com |
