Mince the microphone and dice those documents at the 2006 Puppet Karaoke Identity-Theft Prevention Pow-Wow at the M-Room on 15 W Girard Ave, May 18th at 9:30 PM, where hand puppets will battle for control of the karaoke title and operate a shredder for unwanted personal documents.
The event is open to full audience participation as anyone may bring an original puppet character to compete in a real karaoke contest, or build a puppet upon arrival at the Emergency Puppet Construction Zone (EPCZ). Awards are presented for the top performers in three different categories and the best selections from the show are featured in the Puppet Karaoke weekly podcast. In an effort to combat identity-theft, a shredding unit will be available for the purpose of destroying papers and protecting identities, as an added feature during this very special edition of the show The Puppet Karaoke Universe Show is an ongoing series of live interactive events that combine improv comedy, live puppetry and real honest karaoke. This edition is hosted by Peek-a-Boo Cabaret Veteran David Cassanova and produced by local comedy stalwarts Waiting For Cable. The M-Room is located at 15 W Girard Ave. The show is Thursday, May 18th at 9:30 PM. There is a $4 cover and advance tickets are available online. |
