The groundbreaking interactive Puppet Karaoke Universe Show gets a high-tech shot-in-the-pipe-cleaner-arm with live mixed multimedia projections by Theatre Of The Mind and the dark, twisted avant-garde humor of David Commander, leader of the famed PIGGY sketch comedy show. The 2007 Puppet Karaoke Pop Muzik Pig-Out will take the cutting-edge improv PKU series to a new technological level with hand puppets singing real karaoke blended with live video-mixing to create a complete music video experience for the audience.
David Commander will host this all-new show Thursday May 17th at the M-Room and infuse the typically anarchic puppetry proceedings with his own cultivated blend of controversial mayhem, typified by his NYC fringe PIGGY show, which has gained comedy acclaim on the East Coast. "The seeds of something very funny," wrote Eric Winick of nytheatre.com. Commander is a seasoned performer from New York's Big Art Group and has toured through 11 countries with the shows 'Shelf life', 'House of No More' and 'Flicker' as well as developing and performing in their latest piece 'Dead Set 2' in Germany and France. Commander has performed at the Upright Citizen's Brigade Theater in New York and been an accomplished film actor for years. You might even get a sneak peek of his upcoming show 'The Machine World Gospel'. This creative synthesis will be joined by VJ maestro Theatre Of The Mind, a vibrant presence in the Philadelphia nightlife scene who creates mind-bending video eye-candy for popular events throughout the area, and the spectacle of a puppetshow that tastes like a music video will debut for the first time inPK history. Audience members may participate and compete for prizes by building puppets and singing real karaoke, or simply watch the performance and become immersed in the glow of goofball comedy that is the regular cast's trademark.
