The 'Dapper Cadaver' himself, eerie entertainer and posthumous personality Mr Deadguy will hauntingly host the 2006 Puppet Karaoke Horror-ween Ho' Down on October 19th at the M-Room in Fishtown. This special Halloween-themed version of the ongoing interactive live Puppet Karaoke Universe Show will feature the usual blend of crazy improv comedy, kooky irreverent puppetry and old-fashioned late-night bar karaoke, infused with the macabre hi-jinx of the nation's most infamous undead master-of-creepy ceremonies, Mr. Deadguy.
Mr. Deadguy and his freaky caravan of strange and sometimes sinister cohorts (Icky, Stumpo and Baby Cheese-Wits to name a few) have become a surreal sight to behold, with a history of live appearances throughout the Delaware Valley area, New York City and beyond, always granting the audiences a truly unique one-man special effects-laden stand-up performance with a fair helping of nutty comedy and twisted sing-a-longs.
The Puppet Karaoke Universe Show continues with new celebrity-hosts, unexpected new cast additions, and an evolving puppet karaoke community in its wake. Audience members may become 'Guest Puppeteers' by bringing an original puppet character to the show or building one onsite in the Emergency Puppet Construction Zone. Being an interactive free-for-all, the competition is open to both professional puppeteers and anyone with a sense of humor, some craft supplies and an active imagination. The live show also has a companion video podcast series, which features karaoke highlights, music videos, comedy skits and much more.
The show is produced by comedy troupe Waiting For Cable. The M-Room is located at 15 W Girard Ave. The show is Thursday, October 19th at 9:00 PM. There is a $5 cover and advance tickets are available online.
