Glamorous Neo-Burlesque sensation Melissa Bang-Bang will present a smokin' hot holiday night of singing hand puppets and avant-garde improv during the 2006 Puppet Karaoke Smokin' Hot Santa Slam show Dec 21st at the M-Room in Fishtown, Philadelphia.
Melissa Bang-Bang is a popular performer boasting a bevy of onstage charisma and headlining talent. Whether as a wrestling Indian Princess, a dancing regular in the long-running Peek-A-Boo Revue Show or a Fast Cheap And Out Of Control favorite, Melissa refuses "to be pushed, filed, stamped, indexed, briefed, de-briefed, or numbered". She was recently featured on the America's Got Talent reality show, has had many film roles and cultivated quite a fan following. The Puppet Karaoke Smokin' Hot Santa Slam is the latest in an ongoing series of live interactive events, featuring singing hand puppets combined with the best (or worst) of the late-night bar karaoke tradition. Audience members can pick songs and compete via their own homemade puppets in this innovative competition, and may even build a last-minute puppet with on-hand craft supplies. The show is also routinely podcast with some of the funniest performances featured. The PKU show is produced by R.S. Purcell and Alex Strang of Waiting For Cable.
