SPFX SENTAI TOKUREINJA: Episode One "Lights! Camera! Henshin!" PART TWO
Reio, Gen, Jozu, Zato and Ana are strapped in to their theatre seats, right next to each other as the lights dim and the film starts:
A heavenly female form seen only in silhouette approaches the camera. then materializes with a kind but stern expression. She has long hair divided into multiple colors, red, green, blue, pink and black. She is wearing a more elaborate version of the tight-fitting silver spacesuit that the pink-haired girls in the lobby wore. She speaks, and it is like music. "My name is Mimonomono, personal assistant to Dr Tereburi and I welcome you to a special division of TokuFX Studios. We are working on a new and exciting project that requires your help. Let me explain," and with this the screen grows dark and black like space. A orange comet streaks through the stars and nears the Earth. "5 Years ago the comet Tsubiron approached the Earth and came very close". Next, some shots of the Japanese Space Program, and a very futuristic rocket launch. The rocket breaks orbit and a spaceship emerges, piloted by a young man. "The Japanese Space Program decided to study the comet as it passed Earth, and Dr Tereburi was the first pilot on that mission. Operation CometCatcher was intended to fire a probe-missile into the comet, which would then follow the comet across the galaxy, sending information about the galaxy back to Earth from places our spacecraft could never reach". We see various computer simulations to illustrate the point, then Dr. Tereburi struggling with the controls of his ship as he nears the comet. "This was a dangerous mission, and there were many difficulties, but Dr Tereburi succeeded in getting the probe attached to the comet, and therefore achieved success". Next, a shot of another planet, a dark, red and yellow planet with burning oceans and black smoky clouds. "The probe has sent us images and information about a new planet on the far side of the sun. It is an exact opposite of our world. It is known as Dakkasufira. This is a world of evil and chaos." There are frightening images of burned-out cities, charred landscapes, riots and war. "While the Earth is mostly a world of goodness, infected by occasional evil, Dakkasufira is a mostly a world of evil, with only occasional goodness. The good people are incarcerated and perhaps worse. The most dangerous place on this evil world is known as Ku-Waggamai Zone" Then we see images of black shapes fleeing from the strange planet, streaking across space, past the sun towards Earth. "Now agents of this deadly planet are arriving on Earth. They have discovered our resources and wish to attack us. TokuFx Studios is committed to preventing an invasion." A nice, inspiring image of a futuristic building amid a cluster of smaller ones. The building is a gigantic tower with the highly stylized letters TR on it. Cut back to Mimonomono, "Even now evil agents are attacking and we need all of your help. Please enter this room". She fades away and there is a shot of a very nice futuristic control room. The lights in the theatre come up and the movie seems over, though the image of the control room still plays.....
The buckles unfasten and Reio gets up. He moves towards what should be the screen, then puts his hand up and trys to feel while by moving closer. He loses his balance and falls face first onto a white floor, then gets up and rubs his head.
Reio is now inside the very high-tech control room. One of the strangers that was sitting with him starts giggling. Reio looks back at the theatre and sees that it's NANEKUYA ANA, the famous Idol Star. Before Reio can react, long strands of multicolored hair wrap around his neck and toss him across the control room. Mimonomono steps out from behind a computer bank and glares at Reio. She retracts her hair, which is still long, and puts her hands on her hips. "TSUBAREIKA REIO!, I am your new employer!"
Reio gets up. "I can see, now how about some answers, why are WE here? Why us and not sombody else?" He dosn't liked being touched without his permission.
Gen, Zato, Jozu and Ana walk through the screen and enter the control room to help Reio as he confronts the silver-clad woman. Mimonomono smiles and addresses the entire group, "You are all very fortunate to be hired for these new positions. Dr. Tereburi has personally chosen the five of you from among thousands of others. I, Mimonomono, am your direct leader. You will report to me in all situations". She clicks back and forth on the smooth floor in her high heels and seems authoratative. There is no furniture in the room except a round silver table in the exact center, and from this rises a series of five silver attache cases. "In these cases, you will find everything needed to start work".
Gen quickly grabs a case and says, "Was it you that put us threw all this junk? Personally I don't like be messed with!"
Reio grabs a case too and grunts in agreement.
Ana, Jozu and Zato each take a case. Mimonomono ignores Gen's comment and scowls at Reio, who has offended her. She slaps him across the face. "Somebody picked you because they thought you'd make a good leader. I know now they were wrong!"
"Chill out lady!" Reio puts his hand in his pocket and feels for the metal bracelet that had fallen into his car during the car chase earlier. He searches for the silver bracelet but can't find it in his pocket. Mimonomono smirks and presses a button that starts a video playing on a nearby monitor. Footage of the Reio's Mazda pursuing the truck, and the small jet blowing up the car, etc play for everyone to see. "You lost that in the explosion. You never put it in your pocket", she says. "You've all lost the objects that were left for you. Hmff! Careless! ".
Zato thinks of the laser pistol he dropped when fighting Wild Kong, Jozu thinks of the belt buckle he found in the saloon that he dropped while being strangled, Ana thinks of the pendant she found that was lost during her battle with the demon, and Gen recalls the ring he sacrificed to appease the giantess Gezera on that South Sea island. Mimonomono happens to show footage of all those moments. "It doesn't matter. I have what you need here". The silver cases all pop open at the same time, revealing laser pistols, belt buckles, pendants, rings and, yes....bracelets for everyone.
"What the heck is all this junk for?," demands Gen.
"Hey i know you!" interrupts Reio, "Didn't you write something before? i'm not sure but i've seen you somewhere."......
Ana struts past Reio, brushes her hair and nods towards Gen, "He's just a writer. Not really anybody IMPORTANT".
(Jozu seems enchanted by Mimonomono. Zato is busy checking out the control room's seemingly advanced technology.)
Reio turns his attention to the idol star as if noticing her for the first time, "and you are Nanekuya Ana!"
Gen responds to Reio, ignoring Ana's arrogance, " Yes, I have written before, what have you done in the past?"
Ana doesn't look at Gen or Reio; she's too busy checking out the equipment in her case. She assumes the question was for her. "Let's just say I'm the only one here who doesn't NEED this new job. The rest of you are desperate for work. I know" She slips on her new pendant and the rest of the gear. Jozu is being spurned by Mimonomono and Zato has found a button that activates a tray that slides out of the wall, filled with food. He is now eating bowls of curry rice.
"What is this equipment for?" asks Reio.
Zato announces, "These are some very elaborate props, I must say. Don't you think?" He toys with the laser pistol in his hand then catches that he hasn't introduced himself to anyone and says, "Yamanira Zato, Special Effects Technician," accidentally pointing the blaster at Reio as he talks. "Oops! Sorry! Actually, the gun I used before seemed very powerful..."
Suddenly, an alarm goes off and the entire room flashes red. Jozu drops his curry rice and leaps to his feet. Mimonomono turns to face the monitor as the image of a man in shadow appears. "Dr. Tereburi," she gasps. The shadowy figure speaks in a commanding voice, "I am afraid it is already time for action!". One of the walls of the room slides away and reveals a corridor leading to another, much bigger room.
Gen is still confused, "What the heck are we supposed to do with this stuff?"
Ana finally looks at Gen with annoyance (especially as the alarm is very disconcerting), "Don't be so clueless! Don't you recognize high fashion when you see it? Hmfph! Gloomy creative types!" She is already wearing the pendant, ring, bracelet and belt, with pistol on her hip holster. Mimonomono points to the hallway and the next room, "Let's Go!"
"WHERE ARE WE GOING?" Reio and Gen both yell, as they don the hi-tech gear..
Josu pushes past Reio and Gen. then runs after Mimonomono down the hall. "Let's find out!," he shouts. He has no fear whatsoever. Ana turns and smartly walks down the hall at her own pace. Zato is still at the console and is having trouble putting on his gear. "Darn!", he curses.
Everyone runs into the next room, which is a huge circular dome where the walls are lined with hundreds of monitors. In the center of the room is a small pedestal where Mimonomono is stationed. The monitors show countless scenes in and around Japan. The cameras constantly switch from location to location, and since there are hundreds, the effect is overwhelming. One camera will show a view of a busy Tokyo street, another will show the inside of a cafe. One will show the view from atop a skyscraper across the city, and another will show some kids playing soccer at a school. Maybe a shot from the inside of a bus, or a woman talking a shower! Whoops! (Mimonomono switches that camera quickly) "We can monitor all of Japan from here," she says, then quickly points towards a certain view of a downtown commercial shopping district, where people are running in panic, "There! There's the trouble!". She presses a button on the console and a ring of cameras pop out of the walls, surrounding the room. "This is the High-Tech Lens System. Once you are in position, I can transport you to any location on these monitors. Tokureinja, let's get ready for Action!" There are five "X's" marked on the floor where she expects everyone to stand.
Reio, Gen, Ana, Zato and Jozu step on the appropriate X's and the ring of cameras click in sequence. All five people are bathed in light for a few seconds and suddenly, find themselves standing in a panic-filled street in downtown Tokyo. Pedestrians are running for their lives for some reason, and are too hectic to notice the fact that 5 people just materialized in the middle of the street. As the people scatter, the team sees the probable reason for the panic in the distance. Huge cracks in the street are appearing and something large is forcing its way upwards from the underground. Cars are being pushed aside as the object (whatever it is) pushes upward.
Jozu shouts, "Woah! What is that?!" His eyes widen as he sees the large thing coming up from the surface. He has surprised enough at the High-Tech Lens System, now this thing! What more realistic special effects could he expect he see today?.
Out of the ground rises a huge oval object covered in green and pink spots, a gigantic egg over twenty feet high. It immediately starts to crack. The population has completely cleared the area by now. The egg is about fifty feet ahead of the group.
Reio steps forward and shouts, "What the Hell is going on?!"
Jozu cocks his head to the side, "A huge pink egg cracking over Tokyo.. Now that's freaky..." his eyebrows both raise as he convinces himself.
The giant egg cracks more and green claws can be seen thrusting their way out. Huge feet emerge and finally, large heads with razor sharp teeth. A strange blue and green monster completely emerges, about twelve feet high, as the eggshell shards explode across the street. The monster has three heads, one on top of the other. It roars with all three heads and stands ready for action.
Gen snaps into action, "Omni Shower!", then quickly spins his bracelet and holds his arm up in the air.
Jozu quickly follows suit, "Omni Shower" he calls, raising his arm and releasing green energy sparks.
"Omni Shower," shouts Zato as blue sparks cascade over his body.
"Omni Shower!", shouts Ana as slowly spins her body 360 degrees, allowing the pink sparks to cover her until she glows pink.
Reio steps back and dramatically does the move himself, "Omni Shower!". His bracelet spins, the red sparks fall, and he glows red with the powerful energy. Reio spins around to break the energy and reveals his new form, "Tokured!"
"TokuBlack!"
"TokuGreen!"
"TokuBlue!"
"TokuPink!"
This energy quickly fades and reveals the team in their TokuReinja Battlesuits for the first time.
The monster pauses as if confused by the sudden appearance of the five brightly colored characters standing in the middle of the street, struck in coordinated action poses, each with one arm straight up in the air. The monster roars again and fires three green energy balls at TokuReinja, one ball from each mouth.
Reio ducks fast.
Gen whips out his Omni blaster and fires several shots at the monster
Jozu leaps pver the others and lands on a nearby car roof.
Zato rolls away to the side and Ana rolls to the other side.
Everybody barely gets out of the way except Gen, who is hit by the energy balls. He gets blasted hard and flies back eighty feet into a pile of crates and boxes next to a building. His Omni Blaster did do some damage to the monster, however, who stumbles about with smoke coming out of its body.
Reio takes out his Omni Blaster and starts running around and shooting the monster.
"i could use some help here!"\, he shouts to the others.
Gen joins Reio in shooting the monster with his Omni blaster
Jozu leaps on a car roof and fires away. Ana lands on a fire escape and shoots also. Zato recovers himself and figures his gun out, then adds to the firepower. The monster is hit by all five beams and staggers helplessly. It tucks its tiny arms into its body and joins its legs together to form a huge jet engine, then assumes a Flying Mode. It roars "Energy Comet Attack" and flies towards TokuReinja at an amazingly fast speed, turning into a streak of flaming green energy as it does.
Reio leaps over the energy attack just in time, but the other members are all hit by the streaming energy beam, which passes from TokuBlue to TokuGreen to TokuPink to TokuBlack. (all 4 TokuReinja take damage as they fall to the ground in pain, smoke pouring from their Battlesuits.) The monster reforms itself on top of a nearby 10-story high office building and laughs as best as a monster can. "The Great Ku-WaggaSangiras Brood now claim this planet as its new home!"
Reio thinks, "If only I had a sword!". He tries to activate the camera in his helmet, hoping it will somehow produce a sword, but instead he hears the voice of Mimonomono from his pendant. "Those weapons are still in preproduction, Reio! You must work without them right now! Sorry!"
"Screw You!," Gen yells at the monster, then turns to the others. He is, by far, damaged the most. "Okay I'm getting killed out here, a little healing powers please".
Ana looks down at Gen from the fire escape, sighs, then clutches her Omni-Pendant. She concentrates on the man she made fun of earlier in the control room, and announces ''Omni-Wave!''. She opens her heart and mind, and allows the positive energy of the mysterious Omni Crystal to flow directly through her. She transmits the energy straight into Gen's heart. Ana is exhausted from the energy transfer and falls to her knees.
The monster Ku-WaggaSangiras, still on the rooftop overhead, breathes streams of fire out of each of its three mouths towards the surrounding buildings. "Solar-Fire Attack!" The three jets of fire strike three separate buildings which all explode! The population screams and scurries for cover as debris falls everywhere! An office worker falls under a huge rock. A little girl runs and drops her teddy bear!
Gen, not knowing what else to do, runs over to the girl and hands her the teddy bear "Run away now!," he shouts.
He then quickly drives the monster's attention away from the civilians as he shoots at the monster. "Reio! Shoot him in the back!"
Reio looks anxiously at the blaster in his hand. "Damn! well what else is there besides these?". He starts firing at the monster
The little girl clutches her teddy bear, stops crying and thanks TokuReinja. Her mother grabs her away from some falling debris, just in time.
Reio, Gen, Jozu and Zato fire at the monster who still stands defiantly on the roof. Ana recovers herself, stands up and fires also. Ku-WaggaSangiras has learned about the beams, however, and this time, waves his arms and causes pieces of the broken eggshell to rise up from the ground, fit back together, and form a temporary shield to block the attacks. After the interception, the pieces fall back to the ground.
Ku-WaggaSangiras does his Solar Fire Attack again and destroys 3 office buildings.
Gen suggests, "Lets all fire together!"
Reio nods, "Wait, everyone on my count, hold the trigger on your blasters. If we can make a highly conentrated beam, we might be able to hurt it."
The Tokureinja fire at the exact same time and the five beams (red, green, blue, pink and black) merge into one heavy beam "Spectrum Cutter!!"which streaks towards the monster. Ku-WaggaSangiras forms his eggshell shield again which blocks the massive energy attack, but the shield slowly cracks and explodes from the Spectrum Cutter's immense power. The monster is knocked from the rooftop and plummets to the street below. It pounds a fist into the concrete and staggers back to its feet. Unfortunately, the blasters have all overheated from this and are too hot to handle!
The entire group assembles together to face the monster, and Zato steps in front of everyone. "Wait! I've figured out a new strategy!" He steps closer to the monster (about twenty feet away) and holds one hand up to the dome on top of his helmet, as if to activate the small camera lens. He shouts "Ani-Magic Power!"
Assorted rocks and bits of debris from destroyed buildings rise from the ground and float towards the monster. The debris gathers together and forms a vaguely humanoid shape, like a rock-man, which is about the same size as Ku-WaggaSangiras. The rock-man moves in a strange, jerky fashion, as he were created using stop-motion animation! The rock-man proceeds to bash the monster several times and knock it far across the street into the front window of a jewelry store. Ku-WaggaSangiras stands up inside the abandoned store, even more confused. The rock-man falls apart again into debris, littering the street.
"Lets try to give all of our power to one of us, then that huge rock thing can have more power!," suggests Gen.
Zato confesses, "I can't try it again. One of you guys will have to think of something else!"
Ku-WaggaSangiras, somewhat beaten, looks around the jewelry shop and emits green energy from its body, transforming various gems and precious metals into humanoid forms. Ruby, Sapphire, Opal, Amethyst and Gold Fighters emerge from the store and run into the street to face TokuReinja. They are faceless warriors who seem to be 100% composed of their element. They strike dramatic poses and call out their own names, "Ruby Fighter!", "Sapphire Fighter!", "Opal Fighter!", "Amethyst Fighter!" and "Gold Fighter!"
Jozu (TokuGreen), jumps in front of the rest of the team and puts his hand up to his mini-camera and announces "Stunt Doubler!", after which energy forms a few feet in front of him, rises up and solidifies into an exact copy of himself. Jozu points towards the Fighters and his doppleganger fearlessly charges towards the enemy. Even though it looks exactly like TokuGreen, the copy moves far more erratically, almost comically, like a monkey crossed with a kabuki dancer. It engages the 5 Gem Fighters with expert martial arts skills and bizarre circus-like acrobatics. Stunt Doubler keeps all of the Fighters from getting close to TokuReinja. It can keep the Fighters busy but doesn't seem strong enough to actually defeat or destroy them.
Ana leaps ahead of the group and lands in the midst of the battle. She uses her mini-camera and shouts, "Idol-Flash!", which triggers powerful spotlights, colored smoke and flashing lights from every angle. Stunt Doubler dissolves into nothingless as the Jewel Fighters find themselves surrounded by the sudden onslaught of dazzling sight and sound. TokuPink poses glamorously in the center of the runway as flashbulbs burst around her. The Fighters are awestruck and explode into pieces by the sensory overload. When the illusion subsides, TokuPink stands amid the smoking rubble of the creatures' remains.
Ku-WaggaSangiras, scrambles out of the jewelry store and sees a hardware store. The monster desperately emits more green energy from its body and transforms common tools into three powerful warriors. "Hammeroid!", "Extinguishera!" and "Drilleech!" are heavily armored, mutated tools that jump into the street ready for action. Hammeroid is an squid-like hammer-monster, Extinguishera is a starfish-like fire-extinguisher-monster and Drilleech is a cross between an power drill and a leech monster. TokuPink too weak now and runs behind the other team members.
Reio leads the charge against the new monsters. He hacks and kicks the three beasts. Hammeroid wraps its tentacles around Reio and throws him against a wall then steps close and tries to hammer him with his huge head. Reio manages to roll out of the way and right into the acid spray of Extinguishera.
Gen taps Extinguishera on the shoulder to interrupt its attack on Reio. The monster turns to look and Gen punches him hard. Extinguishera sails through the air and lands on top of Hammeroid. Drilleech charges into Gen with his power-drill full-body attack. Gen screams in pain and is thrown back into another wall.
Gen stands up angrily and touches his mini-camera and announces "Action Zone!". Drilleech is suddenly surrounded by darkness. The monster looks around confused as the lights slowly fade in to show the inside of a creepy old house. Drilleech slowly creeps around the dark and gloomy mansion, spooked by strange, eerie noises. The floorboards creak under his heavy footsteps. A closet door is partially open, and a girl's whimpering voice can be heard from within. Drilleech approaches the door and starts to peer....the door flings open and a mummified female corpse falls out, scaring the monster so it runs away shrieking. Drilleech falls down the half-broken staircase and sees ghostly figures everywhere.
Gen, still in the real world, is laughing as he watches the monster running around scared. The other two monsters try to intercept Drilleech, who unknowingly attacks them both with his drill attack. All three monsters fall together in a confused heap. Reio walks over and slaps Gen on the shoulder, "Great work!"
Ku-WaggaSangiras watches in frustration then glows green and gestures towards his three creations, which all merge into one three-way hybrid monster, Final Death. All 5 Tokureinja engage the creature in martial arts combat. It is very large and slow but each of its hits lands heavy damage.
Reio steps back and activates his own mini-camera, then announces "Blockbuster!", whereupon a huge explosion sends both he and Final Death flying through the air. They both end up on a pier down by the docks, far from anyone else. They face each other about thirty feet apart. TokuRed clenches his fists. Final Death glares through its evil eyes.
All across Japan, TV sets and movie theatre screens stop showing their normal programming and images are replaced by the climactic battle scene between TokuRed and Final Death. Viewers are stunned as their movies and TV shows are interrupted by this scene. Everyone is baffled and complains about this. One theatre patron demands his money back from the owner.
TokuRed and Final Death charge toward each other and have a fierce martial arts battle. The audiences across Japan become wrapped up in the excitement and cheer our hero on. Reio can hear the cheering and gains new strength. He shouts "Blockbuster Megakick!" and leaps high into the air, performing a rapid-fire 100-times kick against the monster, which causes it fling far across the sky and explode into a nearby oil refinery.
Reio walks dramatically back to his companions as audiences applaud all over Japan.
Ku-WaggaSangiras runs out into the street, contracts his limbs and converts into Flying Mode, then rockets away.
The TokuReinja watch in frustration. Ana clenches her fist, "It's getting away!"
Reio comforts her with a hand on her shoulder, "Don't worry". He gathers everyone together in a circle. "We have the people behind us. We have their support. We will win if we believe in them and in ourselves".
