Episode Seventeen
Monster Champion
Kaira is doing her lips in the rearview mirror, sitting in a Novacar parked by the side of the road, somehere in the mountains. She hastily puts her makeup away when Sasura comes running to the car and gets in the passenger side. He asks if she has discovered anything about the recent alien energy transmissions. Kaira glances at the computer screen, embedded in the dashboard and says no. Sasura sighs and relaxes, then makes a joke about Kaira finally being awake. He then jokes about this being a really great date. She smirks and say that Gadura is more her type, which makes Sasura drop his jaw.
A small mountain town. Everyone has gathered in a large circle to watch a fighting exhibition. A man with a staff enters the ring and prepares to fight the current champion, an imposing figure announced as The Great Daroo. The combat begins and Daroo is wounded by the man's excellent staff technique. He is simply no match. The crowd goes crazy. Daroo struggles to his feet and smiles, then snaps his fingers. He suddenly seems stronger and more agile.
Back in the car, the computer screen lights up, startling Kaira and Sasura. They punch some buttons and zero the display in on an 3D graphic that shows an energy field nearby. They relay the image to the car's front window, which becomes a giant video screen. Kaira points to the source of the energy and they drive off.
The Great Daroo is suddenly a much better fighter and beats the contender easily, ripping off a nearby tree branch and using it as a staff weapon. The poor man is beaten so badly he is thrown from the area and lands far away, seemingly dead. The crowd gathers around the victim but Daroo parts them, snaps his fingers and revives the man. The amazed townspeople shout that Daroo has done it again! The reigning champion! Bringer of Death and Life!
Kaira and Sasura park the car nearby and see the commotion, just as the energy field disappears from the screen. They sit and watch the crowd gather around and a new fight begin. This tiem, Daroo battles a karate master. Once again, the champion is almost beaten, but when he snaps his fingers....
The screen buzzes to life again! Kaira calls into HQ to announce that they have found the source of the problem. Sasura gets out to watch trhe spectacle. Daroo is suddenly a great karate fighter and attacks with such ferocity he kills the contender. Sasura is shocked, especially because the crowd seems unconcerned. He begins to protest and everyone notices him, especially Daroo. But Daroo simply snaps his fingers again and returns the man to life. Kaira watches from the car and notices the energy feild turns off at the exact moment of the finger snapping.
Both pilots are now watching the show. Kung Fu expert, Boxing star, Disco-dancing Fighter, all follow the same pattern. Sasura announces that he knows a special fighting style no one can copy. Kaira is shocked and calls Sasura a fool. Daroo accepts the challenge happily. Kaira is shouting to stop, but notices Enji Rai watching from behind some trees.
Sasura has a bewildering fighting style he calls 'Nice Guy Style' which is annoying to watch but somehow effective. He is beating Daroo. Meanwhile, Kaira sneaks up to Enji Rai, who tells the woman that Daroo is really an alien, one who collects data on fighting techniques and sells the information to invading armies. Kaira is about to ask how Enji knows this, but the man becomes dizzy and almost collapses, blaming the mountain air.
Daroo snaps his fingers and becomes strong. Enji recovers his wits enough to yell to stop the fight, but no one hears him. Kaira takes her cue and runs into the ring to stop the fight, but Daroo pushes her aside and uses 'Nice Guy Style' to turn the tables and defeat Sasura. Kaira screams in horror as Sasura falls dead at her feet, and the crowd goes quiet. Daroo smirks and whispers to her, "Maybe I won't snap my fingers this time"
Enji fights his delirium and charges into the ring, tackling Daroo. He uses the human form version of his unique Dragon Style and battles Daroo far into the woods, away from everyone. Daroo notices that Enji is barely conscious due to the atmosphere and remarks that Ultraman Scorpio won't live muich longer here on Earth.
Kaira is crying over Sasura's lifeless body. She screams at the townspeople that they have been tricked by an alien.
Enji Rai fights and fights and fights, pushing himself until he is almost dead himself. But he has beaten Daroo, and the large man crumbles into a steram and snaps his fingers to re-energize....Enji smirks, his simple plan has worked....
Sasura comes back to life, much to everyone's delight, especially Kaira's. Gadura shows up in another Novacar and rushes to help. He says that the energy field has blocked NOVA's scanners but now they have found them all, support is on its way.
Daroo is at full-strength and announces to Enji that his collection is complete: He has analyzed all fightingf styles, including Scorpio's. He thanks Enji Rai and turns to leave, but Rai teases him and says there is more to learn..another style. Daroo accepts the challenge.
Ultrama Scorpio rises over the treetops as the entire town watches in awe. Darood-seijin rises to face the warrior. The two begin a massive battle in the mountains as Gadura curses that he would have come better prepared if he knew there was going to be a giant monster. Darood uses many various fighting styles, and then finally, Scorpio's own Dragon Style. Scorpio was already weak from before, so this is too much. The Ultra-Warrior crashes into the side of a mountain and struggles to stand. Suddenly, he hears the roar of jet engines and look up to see three SkateStingers.
Sasura, Kaira and Gadura cannot understand how the three planes are flying. Who are the pilots? Rei Haro laughs over their coms, saying that he specializes in door-to-door service. He has perfected a new device....From the moon, he is using a small joystick control to remote-fly the three planes. Darood-seijin sees the planes and fires three energy bolts from the prongs on its head to destroy the planes completely. All three pilots are relieved that they did not have to be in those cockpits!
Scorpio uses the distraction to get back up and surprise Darood-Seijin with a new attack: Scorpion Dragonstorm, where energy forms around his body like a massive winged dragon and emits a laser sting from its lashing tail. The beam spilts into three beams which stab Darood-Seijin in each of its three eyes. The monster screams. It did not know about this last fighting move. It explodes.
Enji Rai is more injured than ever. He stumbles through the mountains, and pulls out the Accererazor, knowing he must use it soon, but afraid to.
Gadura walks with Kaira back to the road with the exhausted Sasura trailing far behind.. Gadura makes a joke about dating Kaira, who turns to him and says, that Sasura is more her type, which makes Gadura drop his jaw.
